On Her Debut Album, Wicked Star Jessica Vosk is "Wild and Free"

"I was sitting at a desk and I was doing a great job but everything just felt very stagnant. I'd get panic attacks and be so stressed. I thought 'there's got to be some kind of way to figure out how to get back to what it is that I love.' [Then] I was doing 8 to 6 at the office and then on Monday nights I would go and do open mic nights at some jazz clubs in Manhattan, get myself known within the circuit, and low and behold, around six months after I left that finance job I got a phone call from a musical director who happened to hear me at one of these nightclubs. He said 'I heard you have a really great voice and I'd like to give you the opportunity to be in a show at Carnegie Hall,' and I thought 'what?'"
